Our Services

I have offered a Holistic Therapy service within West Yorkshire for the last 10 years. Our treatment room is now based in Brighouse town centre, West Yorkshire.

What type of massage do I need? ...What is right for me?

Pre-event massage, Post event massage and rehabilitation massage...what's the difference?

Pre-event massage

Performed just before your event, this type of massage focuses mainly on your muscles. It will prepare you for the event in a number of ways. It can:
  • increase circulation to muscles, ligaments and tendons
  • increase range of movement
  • improve performance
  • increase flexibility
  • prevent muscle spasms

Post event massage

Performed after your event, this can:
  • decrease muscle soreness and/or cramping
  • re-establishing full range of motion
  • enhance blood flow to tight muscles
  • reduce recovery time
  • Assist the removal of waste

Rehabilitation massage...anytime!

Sports massage involves manipulation of the soft tissues of the body. It is an effective and beneficial form of massage. By incorporating sports massage into a training regime, you can reduce the possibility of injury. Its is however, not only for active sports people, but also for those people wanting relief from muscle tension as a result of incorrect posture and every day aches and pains.

Other services offered include:
  • Aromatherapy
  • Indian Head massage
  • Reflexology
  • Body Massage
  • Hopi Ear Candling
  • Natural Facials
  • Thai Foot Massage
  • Pregnancy Massage

Deep Tissue Massage

If you have pain, muscle spasms, stress, inflammation or tissue damage, then this is the treatment for you. Although deep tissue massage is by nature a firm massage, you can tell your therapist exactly how much pressure you want. Some of us sit at a computer for large amounts of the day and feel stiff and achy come 5 o clock. This could be due to incorrect posture, and a deep tissue massage could address the discomfort you are feeling, and get you back to your normal self. There are many benefits from having a deep tissue massage. Most importantly it soothes tired and overused muscles. It increases the bodys' circulation which means more oxygen and nutrients are being delivered to where they are needed. If you suffer from headaches, migraines or just struggle to relax and switch off then a deep tissue massage could help. It could also help with cramping and muscle spasms and indeed if you exercise, then it could aid your recovery.

The mind and body work hand in hand so what ever the reason for your visit, you can't fail to benefit from one of these wonderful massages!

Aromatherapy Massage

A relaxing massage using aromatherapy oils. A base oil is mixed with 2 or 3 aromatherapy oils to meet your specific needs. Typically a gentle, relaxing massage, the oils work on a number of planes and have a variety of properties. They are absorbed though the skin, and/or inhaled.

Benefits include:
  • Relief from muscle tension,
  • Stimulation of the bodys' circulation,
  • Increase in serotonin levels,
  • Improvement in muscle tone,
  • Stress relief,
  • Relief from restlessness, tiredness, insomnia and lethargy,
  • Helps with muscle aches
  • Promotion of total mind and body relaxation.
All blends are entirely personal to you.

Hot Stone Massage

A wonderfully relaxing massage incorporating the heat from hot stones. The heat from the stones penetrates up to 5cm below the skin meaning that you can say goodbye to those deep-seated aches and pains. Stones in a range of sizes are warmed in a water bath and the therapist will use them to slowly massage away your aches and pains. In these colder months its also a very comforting treatment and will have you drifting into marvellous relaxation within minutes.

Reflexology

During a treatment pressure is applied to the nerve endings in the feet with the aim of balancing the body. Reflexology can create total balance in body, mind and soul.

Reflex areas in the feet and hands correspond to all glands, organs and structures of the body. When the nerve ending are stimulated this helps to release blockages in energy flow around the body which may be causing an imbalance. If the energy becomes blocked, illness may result, and unblocking this energy restores the energy flow enabling healing to take place.

When the energy can flow freely we are well, balanced and in harmony with our environment physically, mentally and emotionally.

It is also a very relaxing treatment, some people finding more relaxing that a massage even! Each treatment last up to an hour and initially a 4-6 week course is recommended.

Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage is a massage of the upper back, neck, shoulder, arms, head and face. A great treatment if you get headaches and tension in these areas. This treatment is done whilst you sit in a chair and has many other benefits. It can ease tired eye muscles, soothe muscle tension, increase flexibility in the upper body, increase circulation to the face and head and even improve the condition of the skin and hair.

Thai Foot Massage

If you like your feet rubbing then or spend a lot of time standing then, this is the treatment for you. Thai foot massage concentrates on the feet and lower legs and can be truly relaxing, not to mention the relief it can bring to those aching limbs. Also, it can also help with swollen ankles. Some other benefits include increased circulation, relief from muscle aches and pains, better flexibility and a general feeling of well-being.

Hopi Ear Candles

A good treatment for anyone who gets recurring ear, nose and throat problems. Hope ear candling is a natural way of helping problems associated with congestion in these areas. Its also good if you get ear infections (although you must be free of infection at time of treatment). It used to be that when you got a build of wax, a doctor would harshly syringe it out!! - nothing so brutal is necessary, as a Hopi Ear Candle treatment can sort this out as well. It's also good for those who have sinus problems (including hay fever!), or headaches. During treatment, a cotton tube is inserted in the ear and lighted. It slowly smoulders (so there's no danger!), and painlessly draws out the impurities within the ear. The treatment is very relaxing and also includes a little face massage.

Pregnancy Massage

A lovely massage just when you need it! Whether you've got back ache, swollen ankles or just want some much needed time out and pampering. Pregnancy massage can be done from 3 months onwards and is a lovely natural way of easing some of the discomfort associated with pregnancy. Benefits include:
  • Relief from muscle aches & pains
  • Relief from cramps and muscle spasm
  • Improved posture
  • Reduction in swelling
  • prevent muscle spasms
  • Regulation of blood pressure
  • Improved mood
  • Improved range of movement
  • Improved postural balance
  • Relaxes breathing
  • Reduction in stress that will aid in the preparation for birth
